NATEA (North America Taiwanese Engineers' Association)
was founded in 1991 with the motivation to promote science/technology
and to provide management training opportunities for
Taiwanese Americans and the community at large. We have since held numerous
technical seminars and conferences, all open to the general public.
Due to the growing Taiwanese American population and important technology role in
Greater Seattle Area, NATEA Headquater had long desired to setup a regional chapter here.
Led by Kaiser Yang, the Founding President of this chapter, a committee composed
of 14 local engineers made the dream come true. On April 9 of 2005, backed by two
distinguished scholars, Prof. Cheng-Ching Liu at U. of Washington and Dr. Joseph Yang
at TECO San Francisco, the opening event with two keynote speeches was held at U.W. campus
and thus Seattle Chapter was born.
