Dear Member,
I would like to extend an invitation to you to submit an article for one of NATEA's Journals (2004) to be published at
the NATEA Annual Conference in Taiwan on 1/11/05.
As you know, the NATEA journal is the flagship of NATEA that serves as one of the means of communication between NATEA,
our members, sponsors, and friends. The journal covers the NATEA organization, NATEA's activities in 2004, emerging
technologies, and technological policies in Taiwan and the USA.
This year, we plan to cover the following fields of technology:
1. Wireless
2. MEMS/Nanotechnology
3. VoIP
4. Digital Contents
5. Network Security
7. Bioinformatics
8. The startup opportunities
9. Civil Engineering
It has been 13 years since NATEA's founding in 1991, and we are ready to expand the coverage of NATEA's Journal starting this year.
In addition to technical aspects, we'd also like to cover the concerns and considerations of NATEA members and their spouses.
Below are several suggested topics for articles:
1. Letter/comment to NATEA staffs: Expectations and suggestions
2. Concerns and issues with outsourcing from the USA
3. Economic downturn and its impacts on the USA and Taiwan
4. Life with a science or technology career: difficulties/enjoyment/achievement
5. The decreasing number of Taiwanese graduate-students in the USA: the impact on the USA and Taiwan
6. American born Taiwanese professionals, the impact of cultural differences
7. Chinese/Taiwanese education for younger generations
Please write an article in any of these areas or any other appropriate topics that you feel like sharing about.
The article should be 1-3 pages, 10 pt Times New Roman font, two columns, and justified. Margins should be: top 1",
left 0.5", right 0.5", bottom 1". Pictures or tables can be inserted in the text with captions of 9 pt font.
The articles will be reviewed and edited by NATEA's Journal committee. Seven articles will be selected for publication.
There will be tokens of appreciation presented to the authors of selected articles at the NATEA Annual Conference, next year.
Please be encouraged to submit an article for the NATEA journal. This is a great opportunity for you to share with us your
knowledge, thoughts, ideas, and concerns. It is the sharing and caring from all members like you that keeps NATEA going.
The deadline for submission is 11/30/04. Please contact me if you need additional time.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to receiving your articles soon.
Sincerely,
Eaden Saw
